Circle of Excellence

The CPCU Society’s Circle of Excellence Recognition Program awards each chapter for its efforts to achieve benchmarks in chapter performance. The program provides chapter leaders, and committee and task force chairmen, with structure and guidance to achieve strategic, chapter and member goals. Chapters can earn Platinum, Gold or Silver recognition by achieving key initiatives of the Society's strategic plan. The San Diego Chapter was awarded Platinum for 2017 and 2018!

AJ Romero Memorial Volunteer Service Award

This is awarded to a Chapter Member, Board Member, or friend of the San Diego Chapter for their exceptional contribution to the insurance community and the San Diego CPCU Society Chapter during the year. This award is given to those individuals who have gone above and beyond.


2017 – Michael Esposito: Recognized for his 5 years of service as a board member for the San Diego Chapter and acting as the Circle of Excellence chairman helping the chapter achieve Platinum status for 2017.

2016 – Arthur Filtner: Recognized for being an active member and contributor to chapter meetings. He brought a wealth of knowledge and experience from his time at the Institutes to the chapter and facilitated Lunch and Learn meetings.

2015 – AJ Romero: Recognized for his role as a friend of the chapter. He was our resident photographer and responsible for promptly uploading photos to our chapter website.

Company of the Year

Companies are nominated for this award for their ongoing support of continuing education and the CPCU designation. This is demonstrated by the Company’s involvement in the San Diego Chapter Board, facilitating educational seminars, and supporting new CPCU designees.

2017 – ICW: Recognized for their employee involvement in the board and various chapter activities as well as providing financial support through sponsorship for the chapter.

2016 – Wawanesa: Recognized for encouraging employees to participate in chapter functions and take leadership roles on the board. They also offer consistent financial sponsorship support each year.
