Greetings fellow CPCUs,
The CPCU Society Annual Meeting in October was a great success not only with overall attendance and with positive feedback about our community, we also exceeded the Society's goal for Promises2Kids donations. With approximately 2,700 in attendance and 50 CPCU member volunteers from Southern California, we were able to reach a total donation of over $6,000!
The San Diego Chapter is wrapping up this great year with our traditional Season of Giving and supporting another local good works initiative, Honor Flight San Diego.
Honor Flight is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose goal is to escort Veterans to Washington DC and see their memorials, at no cost to them. Top priority is given to World War II Veterans, as well as the Korean and Vietnam Veterans. Each Veteran is provided with a guardian for the trip, as many are in their 80's and 90's.
Many of our WWII Veterans returned home different people. There was no PTSD diagnosis at that time. They came home, put their uniforms in a box, and never spoke of the war again. When interviewed about the Honor Flight program, many state their trip was able to help provide closure.
Please join us this holiday season for our Good Works Luncheon next Wednesday at C3 in Mission Valley to help support this great program and honor the men and women known as the Greatest Generation. Attendees will receive a nice warm meal by Bekker's Catering. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Honor Flight San Diego.
Happy Holidays everyone!
